Classes & Events
Second Saturday ~ May 11, 6-8p. Second Saturday in May will feature Sandra de Helen, an accomplished playwright and poet who lives in Portland. She has worked actively in the theater community as a writer, actor, and founder of theater companies.
She will read from her new mystery novel, The Hounding, first in a series inspired by the stories of Sherlock Holmes.
The book features Shirley Combs and her sidekick Dr. Mary Watson, modern day Portlanders, who use Sherlock’s methods to solve crimes.
Kirkus Reviews described the book as: “A confident, meticulously detailed mystery that would have made Shirley’s pipe-smoking idol proud.”
