SWA MEMBER ART EXHIBIT SPRING 2026

10000 NE 7th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98685

GALLERY 360 PRESENTS:

Jeff
Gracz

Nature based photography from digital and film-based cameras. Original images are scanned or imported into the computer. The computer is my darkroom. My imagery style has become quite diverse over the years. I will sometimes shoot multiple exposure in camera and create an abstract image that looks more like a painting. Other times, I will go a more traditional route and bring out the 4x5 field camera and shoot black and white landscapes. Or maybe it is somewhere in between? It all depends on the subject matter at hand, the light, and my mood.

Prints are then made using either archival pigment inks on paper (using professional inkjet printers here at my studio), or on aluminum sheets using a dye sublimation process (using a third-party printing lab). All my pieces are limited edition and are numbered, signed and dated on the back. Certificate of Authenticity is also provided.

Bought my first camera in my teens. I immediately started arranging all the shapes, forms, lines, and colors, within the rectangular shaped viewfinder. I am entirely self-taught. I have used a variety of formats from 35mm all the way to 4x5 large format. I used to sell stock imagery to the horticultural trades. Have been selling to the fine art market now for 10+ years. I work out of my home studio in Vancouver, WA.

Mantras

  1. Do not try to beat Mother Nature, it will make her angry.

  2. Regardless of the weather, there are always images to be had, you just have to look for them.

  3. When you are concentrating on one image, don't forget to look behind you, there might be something even better over there.

  4. Trust your instincts and always strive for more. Be your own worst critic.

  5. Carpe Diem. Work until you are exhausted. It is interesting how creative you can be in altered states of consciousness.

  6. Study the works of others - what makes their work so special? But then don't go out and imitate them, work on creating your own personal voice.

My studio is open to the public – I live in the Salmon Creek neighborhood. Just make an appointment here.
